Vikings Group launches ‘Play Within Your Limits’

By on October 12, 2016

ClubsACT congratulate Vikings Group on their new ‘Play Within Your Limits’ initiative in collaboration with Lifeline Canberra.

‘Play Within Your Limits’ will offer mental health and wellbeing support on a range of issues including alcohol, gambling, domestic violence, grief, addictions, relationship breakdowns, trauma and loneliness.

Vikings staff will be paid to attend the Mental Health and Wellbeing training, which will be an employment requirement going forward. This training aims to help identify patrons who may be at risk and point them in the direction of professional support.

Each Vikings venue will be equipped with a ‘Lifeline’ phone, for people who wish to seek help. An experienced Lifeline crisis supporter will be on the end of that phone line to listen and offer advice.

Erindale Vikings club will also develop a dedicated crisis room, equipped with a phone and Lifeline toolkits to assist with depression, anxiety, domestic and family violence.

The new campaign is one of many initiatives our community clubs implement to minimise harm and provide more support to our members.
